2020 Colos- 100% Tempranillo
2 clusters per vine
Price $285.00
The low harvest rate of only 0.29 tons per acre – just one or two clusters per vine and roughly 1/10 the normal harvest rate of the highest quality winegrowing regions worldwide – produces grapes that boast extraordinary phenolics (flavor components), intensity, and flavor density. These high marks derive from the optimized nutrition the “mother vine” is able to deliver to the berries as a direct result of our discerning application of advanced vineyard techniques and strategic yield reductions. Colos is our richest and most concentrated expression of pure Texas-grown Tempranillo.

2021 Magellan - Red Blend
15 clusters per vine
Price $119.50
By diligently employing strategic yield reductions and advanced vineyard technologies, Inwood produces a widely contrasting lineup of Cabernet Sauvignon wines, ranging from the Magellan, the least-ripe but longest-aging Pauillac style, to the Mericana, the ripest and earliest drinking Napa style. Although Magellan was Inwood’s first Bordeaux blend, designed to replicate the truest character of Bordeaux wines, this big, brawny style has become our rarest. As our least-ripe Cabernet style, Magellan is the product of a slightly earlier harvest than other Inwood Cabernets, capturing extraordinary tannic values and high anti-oxidants that can lay down for many years to reveal the fullest expression of its intrinsic treasure. With a nose of cassis and wild violets, expect big velvety tannins integrated with tight structure, unearthing a deep core of black cherry, plum, and black currant and a firm finish. We recommend a minimum of 10 years cellaring from the vintage date (or 2027) for optimal experience.

2022 Cornelious "Reserve"
100% Tempranillo
15 clusters per vine
Price $0.00
Inwood Estate’s tempranillo program produces wines at three distinct production levels: 3.0 tons per acre, 1.5 tons per acre, and less than 0.5 tons per acre. For single variety tempranillo, those wines are our Cornelious, Cornelious Reserve, and Colos, respectively. As we decrease production levels, we simultaneously increase in quality levels.
Our Cornelious Reserve, produced at roughly 12-16 clusters per vine, showcases perfectly the inverse relationship between production level and quality. Bright red fruit expression, dense mouthfeel and velvety smooth tannins are all hallmarks of high quality tempranillo. This wine has superb aging ability and will tend to peak 5-8 years from harvest date. New innovations in the fermentation and élevage programs have allowed us to maintain a lengthy bottle life, while also making the wines much more approachable at a young age.
This release marks the fifth installment of a Reserve tempranillo from Inwood. Past vintages include 2008, 2012, 2015, and 2017. What makes the 2022 vintage unique is its freshness. This resulted in advanced hand sorting in the field before harvest to ensure no underripe or secondary clusters were pulled during the pick. By eliminating these unwanted clusters, it also eliminated any hint of green or off-putting flavors that typically take time-in-barrel to breathe off. For that reason, our time-in-barrel was reduced to 16 months, down from an average of 24 months in past vintages. This wine was aged in 100% French Oak, 28% of which was new.
